![]() If you have more than one cd/dvd drive then you need to also, on the same screen, go into optical disk drive priority and make sure the dvd drive you are working with is the first drive in the list. You can press the save key (probably f10, look at the bottom of your screen) then esc to exit. ![]() If you only have the one cd/dvd in your machine then that should be enough. Write down what this is presently set to, as it will generally boot your Hard drive. At the bottom of the bios screen it shows the keys to navigate, save, exit without saving etc.ġst boot device. You use the arrow keys to navigate around in the bios. The fact that you tried a linux disk and it went to windows is likely because you didn't change the boot order in the bios. If you don't press the key at the right time then restart windows again and start hitting the key sooner. You need to go into windows and choose restart and as soon as windows shuts down and the system reboots start pressing the del key. The last thing is, in the first screenshot the details of the CD-rom show a DVDRAM drive in its name, notice i say RAM not ROM You can use a Freeware System info program like SIW. The listed SCSI CD-ROM in your screen shot may be from software and not be for the hardware CD-ROM. See if mounts to the D: drive, or dose it mount on some other drive letter. ISO file or other common image file and right click and select Mount. You could have some CD-ROM emulator that is using the D drive letter and your CD-ROM may be connected to a disabled "in BIOS" disk controller and is why it don't work. Select the CD-ROM in Disk Management and right click, then select Change Drive Letter. If I can do that will it take away the SCSI and give me back my drive?
